Q. Are you really walking across America?
A. Yes...
Q. Where did you start?
A. Santa Monica, CA
Q. Where do you plan to end up?
A. Most likely Jacksonville, FL. Maybe I'll do part of the Appalachian if I feel the need to move around some more at the end of it.
Q. How do you eat, sleep, and otherwise accommodate yourself?
A. I've found that once you stop worrying about these things, and money especially, you find what you need without even having to ask. People along the way have been more than generous, offering food, and dumpsters are always a good resource! I camp out when I don't have a couch or yard.
Q. Do your feet hurt?
A. Sometimes! Now that I have replaced my old, worn out shoes, they are doing a lot better.
Q. What does your family think of what you're doing?
A. Well, those that I have the most contact with, which is few, are probably flabbergasted, but supportive. I think Grandma worries a little more than is necessary. But she means well.
Q. Are you crazy?
A. Probably.
Q. What inspired you to do this?
A. Well, I met a friend, George Throop who was walking across to raise awareness of a healthier way of living, etc. I initially walked with him, but as time went on and traveling styles began to differ, I decided I wanted to keep walking for the sake of having adventure, but in a simple and humble way. And I want to inspire others do get out and see more, stop being afraid or doubtful of their dreams.
